One more time:
The last 3 years with my bees have been very hard. I got new bees in the spring every year. Everything developed great during the summer. We could harvest honey and are able to sell. I thought this year is the year and I will finally be able to keep my bees again over the winter. My goal always was not needing to buy new ones from somewhere in the south every year. High hopes during the summer and then the winter brought me back to reality and I lost all my hives.
My beehouse is now protecting my bees, but again no luck. In the winter all have died. This year I got 4 hives and the developed very good. This was my best honey year ever. I harvested more than 200 pounds and in addtion with a great test. The dry weather and a lot of flowers now in our yard, gives the bees plenty to make execelent honey.
This year I caught also a swarm and now I even go with 5 hives into the winter. This year I was much more on top of mite treatment. I hope this will help. I talk to another beekeeper and he said that he is treating his bees every autumn with miteaway.
So let’s see how this will go. I have 3 realy strong hives ( Whoite, Red, Blue) and 2 weaker ones ( Yellow and Green). It would be already a big step up, if I can get 3 hives through the winter.
I wish you all Happy Hollidays.
